The Uffizi holds one of the world's great collections of Italian Renaissance art across roughly 50 rooms, including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera in the same room, early Leonardo da Vinci works, and paintings by Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian. It's Florence's most-visited museum and, along with the Accademia, the ticket most worth booking weeks ahead.
Booking
Timed-entry tickets are sold online through the official Uffizi ticketing system, with a small reservation fee added to the base admission price. In high season (April–October) day-of walk-up tickets can sell out by late morning, so booking ahead isn't just about skipping the line — it's often the only way in on your preferred day. A later-afternoon entry slot is typically both cheaper and quieter than a morning one.
What to prioritise
With around 1,500 works on display, trying to see everything in one visit is the most common mistake. A focused 2–2.5 hour visit covering the Botticelli rooms, the early Renaissance rooms (Giotto, Uccello, Piero della Francesca), and the Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael highlights gives a genuinely satisfying visit without museum fatigue setting in.
