Totally Florence is a new, independent guide to Florence, built as a growing index rather than a blog feed — every sight, neighbourhood, day trip and dish filed into a clear department, with new pages added most weeks rather than a handful of exhaustive posts and long silences in between.

What's live at launch

We opened with a full set of essentials across all eight departments rather than one deep section and seven empty ones:

  • Plan — eight guides covering weather, getting here, getting around, itineraries and budgeting.
  • Stay — a neighbourhood guide, a hotels guide, and an apartments guide.
  • See & Do — the Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti Palace, Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo, San Lorenzo, Santa Maria Novella, plus curated shortlists for best, free and family-friendly options.
  • Tours & Day Trips — six day trips (Siena, Pisa, Cinque Terre, San Gimignano, Lucca, Chianti) plus guided-tour and vespa-tour guides.
  • Food & Wine — a Tuscan cuisine guide, gelato guide, markets guide, and how to find where locals actually eat.
  • Culture — a history of Florence, the Medici family, a Renaissance art primer, and an etiquette guide.

What's next

More day trips, deeper neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood guides, specific restaurant and museum write-ups, and — over time — translations, since Florence draws visitors from everywhere. We're building toward a genuinely comprehensive index; see how we build this guide for our approach to getting there without cutting corners on quality.

Follow along: we'll log major additions on this news page as they go live, most weeks.
